More than just a trade show, theMid-America Trucking Showis coming to the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 21-23, 2013. This annual convention organizes a face-to-face meeting between heavy-dutyrepresentatives and trucking professionals. The industry exhibitors bring their new products for introduction and promotion to trucking suppliers and customers, while trucking professionals attend to learn more about new services and products available that could advance their companies. Anyone who wants to successfully conduct business in the trucking industry attends MATS to meet with large companies and media outlets and to make new deals.
Prior to the start MATS, a meeting of fleet executives and VIPs from the heavy-duty and commercial vehicle industry will meet for theFleet Forum.This caucus combines the biggest names in trucking with the newest trade show vehicles in order to preview the coming year of trucking equipment and service. The meeting will begin with a luncheon, followed by sessions providing an economic overview of the trucking industry, information about natural gas, and preview of the newest fleet inventions. A cocktail reception in the early evening will close the MATS kick-off event.
The following day, March 21, will begin the trucking show main events with the annualPKY Truck Beauty Championship, the single largest grouping of heavy-duty show trucks in the country. Awards are presented in a variety of categories, from the best working bobtail to the best use of stainless and chrome. Attendees can browse the events parking lot full of working show trucks hoping to be named the top beauty in the nation.
A vast array of informative, trucking-oriented seminars is planned throughout the convention. Designed to provide necessary information for fleet companies and individual truckers alike, these sessions are free-of-charge to anyone attending MATS.
The final night of MATS offers the annual complimentary concert provided by a sponsoring exhibitor. The 2013 headlining entertainment is Randy Houser. Last years performers included southern rock group Blackberry Smoke and country star James Otto.
